e-Business Starter Pack FAQ
Q. Why do I need this package?
A. This package provides you with your own domain name (webname), such as www.my-business.com.au. It also provides you with up to 20 email addresses (e.g. contact@my-business.com.au) and space on our servers to host and display a website promoting your organisation.
Q. What domain names are avaiable - what can I register?
A. This package includes your choice of a .com.au or .net.au domain name, registered for a two year period, and subject to availability and eligibility.
Q. Are there any eligibility or other requirements to subscribe to this service?
A. Yes. The registration of a .com.au or .net.au domain name is restricted to Australian registered entities. To be eligible you need to have an ABN, ACN, Registered Business name or Trademark.
Q. Does my domain name have to match my business or organisations legal name?
A. No. The .au policies state that your domain name must be closely and substantially connected to your business, but does not have to be an exact match to it's name. For example if you were in the business of selling garden supplies, you would be eligible to register a name such as 'gardensupplies.com.au' (if available).
Q. What if I am not eligible for the domain of my choice?
A. You can still purchase this package but you will need to contact Click'n Go on 1300 764 614 to discuss alternate domain name extensions that do not carry eligibility criteria.
Q. What does the hosting service include?
A. 100MB of disk space for your website pages and databases, up to 20 email accounts, unlimited data transfers (subject to our Accesptable Use Policy), unlimited mail redirections and more. All clients also have unlimited access to our included website builder tools for designing your web pages. Refer to our Business Pro 100 package for more information.
Q. How many pages can 100MB of disk space support?
A. This really depends on the type of pages you upload. If they are simple pages with a few images and text, you will be able to have hundreds of pages on your website. The more images and the larger your image files, the more space you absorb and the less pages capable of being produced.
Q. How long does it take to register and set up?
A. The registration process will take you less than 5 minutes and we aim to process all applications with 30 minutes during normal business hours.
Q. Where are the hosting servers located?
A. Click'n Go servers are all located in premium data centres in Australia. We do not host any client services overseas.
Q. What support do you provide and how do I contact you?
A. Click'n Go provides phone and email support for all clients. You can call us during weekday business hours on 1300 764 614 or email us at support@clickngo.com.au with all your hosting and domain name queries.
Q. Do I have control over my hosting account and domain name?
A. Yes. We provide secure login facilities for both domain name management and hosting services. This ensures all clients retain full control over their website, email accounts and domain name settings.
Q. Can I use software like Microsoft Outlook® or Outlook Express® to receive and send my emails?
A. Yes. Our email services are compatible with any email program.
Q. Do you provide access to webmail?
A. Yes. All hosting clients can access emails via our webmail services as well as using email clients such as Outlook® or Outlook Express®.
Q. What happens at the end of the 12 month subscription?
A. You have a choice to renew your subscription for another 12 months, allow it to lapse, or you may choose to move to new hosting provider. If you do not wish to renew the hosting service you will still have control over your domain name registration which carries a two year license term. However if you do not renew, it will mean your webpages and emails cease to operate.
Q. Does Click'n Go also provide website development/design services?
A. Click'n Go does not have web developers on staff, however we do provide free website building tools via a popular Sitebuilder service that allows clients to develop their own web pages via a user-friendly online software program.
Q. I do not wish to use the Sitebuilder tools - can I upload a website designed by myself or a web developer?
A. Yes. The website builder tools are provided as a free service to all e-business pack subscribers, however, you are not obliged to use them. You can upload (also referred to as 'FTP - File Transfer Protocol') web pages designed by a developer or yourself.
Q. How can I make changes to my website?
A. If using the Sitebuilder tools, you can make the changes via our website and publish them to your account online. Should you choose to externally develop your web pages, you will need to upload the new/ammended pages to your account on our server via FTP (File Transfer Protocol).
Q. Do you support FrontPage® Extensions?
A. Yes. If you choose to use FrontPage® for developing your website, you will need to request Click'n Go to enable FrontPage® Extensions on your account to allow you to upload those files. To request this, you need to email us at support@clickngo.com.au.
Q. Can I have a database linked to my website?
A. Yes. All hosting packages have one mySQL database included for you to host with your website. However, Click'n Go does not provide programming or development for your database - you will need to consult your preferred web developer for this service.
